“Revitalizing the Mutual Cooperation in the Energy Sector”

This Forum strengthened cooperation between the two countries in the Energy Sector and implemented the conclusion of the 1st Indonesia China Energy Forum in Bali in September 2002.

Projects successfully completed in the electricity Sector: Gas Fired Power of Palembang Timur, Coal Fired Steam Power Plant of Cilacap, from the Oil and Gas Field are assets acquisition by CNOOC for Repsol – YPF – Maxus Oil co (Spain), Petrochina acquiring Devon Energy Company, contract of works, technical services by CNPC, engineering services projects in Indonesia by SINOPEC, etc. and the Tangguh LNG development, Asahan 1 hydro power plant, Labuhan Angin coal fired steam power plant.

Evaluations were made and projects explored include the 10.000 MW coal fired steam power plant, a “crash program” to be completed by 2009 – 2010. The projects are open for EPC cooperation, and for back up services to operate the plants.
